Brunch with Lily

Filed under Friends on Thursday December 20, 2007 at 8:40 am

It had been ages since we’ve seen Shaun, Jodey and Lily!! Too long! Jodey and I made plans before I went to DC and we met up for breakfast on Sunday. Lily was just so adorable! She had the perfect little Christmas dress on and she danced away until nap time. She is one of the nicest, cutest little kids I’ve been around. Shaun and Jodey are great parents! It was really fun to spend time in their world for a couple of hours!

A little more DC

I don’t know why it took me so long to post everything, but all my DC photos are up. We had a very pretty snow storm. Tim took this picture and I really liked it so I wanted to post.

Tim’s Career News

The John Ford silent movie that Tim scored is coming out. Can you tell I’m excited. It was such a good project! Here is a little blurb about it:

Washington DC

Filed under Uncategorized on Monday December 10, 2007 at 9:07 pm

Well, I turned 40 last Thursday. Where does the time go? It seems like I just turned 30 and we moved to LA. It’s strange.

I worked in DC last week and Tim flew in for a business meeting in Virginia and to hang out. I had real Maryland crabcakes for my birthday dinner. I was completely stunned because Tim and his family bought me a new camera, which is so posh – I don’t feel like I should own it! I came home to a box full of gifts from my parents. I was so spoiled.

Work was very hard. We had an unusual no show rate that made it stressful! But we filled every position except for one. It snowed when we were in DC. And it was a gorgeous snow and we took a bunch of pictures with the old camera. I’ll post soon.

I worked on Saturday morning and we set out on Saturday afternoon to see the sites of DC. We saw the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, WWII memorial, Vietnam Memorial, the White House and the Willard Hotel. Our day was so incredible. The sky was so blue as we strolled along the Mall in DC. We ate at this little place by an ice skating rink. I’ll never forget it – even though I was working it felt like a mini vacation because Tim was there. I’ve really worked this birthday! London, DC, camera, my mom sent me a bracelet! I’m guessing 41 won’t be quite so momentous!

Let the Holidays Begin…….

Filed under Holidays on Saturday December 1, 2007 at 8:49 pm

Tonight we officially start the holidays with a Christmas concert. Our friend Charles sings in a choir and tonight they are putting on one of two events at a church on Wilshire. We are picking up Nicole and the three of us will attend. We’ve got our tree up and I’ve got labels for the Christmas cards printed. There is always so much to do!

I hear “Enchanted” is a great holiday movie – I just wonder how Jon and Al got a part in the movie! This killed me so I had to share.

    USDA Hardiness Zones

The USDA hardiness zone map is very important, especially when ordering plants, trees or shrubs from a catalog.  When you decide to purchase an item, take note of the hardiness range that’s listed for that particular item.  Look at your state in the map below and pin point where you live in that state.  Next, note the color code.  If you live on the edge of 2 different color codes, like I do, make a note of those codes.  Now check the hardiness zones table and find your color code or codes.  You can pinpoint or cross reference your zone by looking at the list of example cities.  If you live on the edge of 2 zones, the example cities will help you decide which zone you’re in by picking the zone with the city nearest to you.

I hope this information helps you with purchasing plants.   Good Luck!

    All about orange extract shampoo

    April 8, 2014 @ 12:00 AM

People use shampoo every day in order to keep their hair clean and tidy.  Apart from that, this hair care solution also ensures that the hair is at its healthiest.  However, some people still continue to experience some itchiness and flakiness in their scalps despite shampooing every day.  The truth is that a lot of people often develop allergies to the very products they use, even if they’ve managed to use them without any problems in the past.  This can be something related to the various chemicals and synthetic compounds contained in these products.  However, one does not have to live with such worries anymore, since there have been many products using organic and all natural ingredients, such as orange extract shampoo.

Most people associate orange with Vitamin C, and this is certainly a good thing since every one could use a bit more of it.  After all, Vitamin C has been known to be effective in improving a person’s health.  When it comes to hair care products, it does one a whole lot of good.  The fruit itself is a favorite, being citrusy and sweet, but to apply its extract on your head will not only make it smell good, but your scalp will also acquire a great deal of nourishment.

Orange extract shampoos have been getting popular as of late, simply because it’s one of the most natural hair care products to come out in quite some time.  What makes it even more reputable is the fact that even the FDA (Food and Drug Administration of America) has given it their stamp of approval, ensuring consumers everywhere that their hair will be at the healthiest state possible.  Below are some of the benefits one can look forward to when using orange extract shampoos.

  • Orange extract actually nourishes the hair from within, and the fragrance proves to be quite soothing, which is why it’s often used in aromatherapy.
  • It can help a person be relieved of any stress, since it is known to aid in the stabilization of one’s nervous system.  This can then lead to a rather calming effect to the user’s mind set, as well as giving them much improvement over the functionality of their organs.
  • With hair care products, one can expect a properly nourished scalp, since orange extract can enrich blood supply.
  • Another essential benefit that one can expect from orange extract in shampoos is that it can help eliminate the various pests that may thrive in the hair.  Some people that suffer from lice infestations will find that using orange extract to be the perfect solution for them. The scalp can truly be cleansed and kept as healthy as possible without one worrying about further infestations, as it is put to a complete stop.
  • Another important attribute of orange extract is that it can easily be used with other hair care products such as essential oils without having its properties diminished.  In fact, it can even add to more effective hair nourishment.
  • These are some of the benefits to be expected from the use of orange extract shampoo.
